The pictures inside are stunning, and it has a ton of great information. I was a little thrown off because the cover is a little cheesy, but the book is gorgeous.

While certainly not the definitive source regarding information or pictures about these spots, Unforgettable Places to See Before You Die is worth purchasing if approached as a "tease" intended to inspire further interest and research. There isn't enough factual information presented to consider this book a travel guide. Likewise, there aren't enough opinions presented to consider it a travelogue.

The writing is not very good, and I didn't think the photography was very good - the places are fantastic, but I think that's the only reason people think the pictures are nice - because the places are nice, not because the skill of the photographer is anything to write home about.For a REALLY spectacular travel book to inspire you, check out Lonely Planet's book "Travel" - the photos are just incredible, and it will inspire you to start packing your bags. I didn't think this book was anything special.
